Weight Loss Exercises - Types of Exercise

The Best Exercise for "LOWER" ABS & FAT LOSS

The need to be physically fit, and in the case of youngsters - to be slim, is taking over societies all over the world. Slim is in and rightly so. With all the fast food and stationery activities due to the Internet technology, there is little or no scope for weight loss except via a dedicated routine.

The weight loss exercises help to keep fit and give you a well-toned body. There are many exercises for weight control and they are all designed to counter the adjustment of the body to a low cal diet when ‘fasting’ is adopted. The weight loss exercises help to keep the body weight in check and a number of age related ailments too. The exercises can be attempted individually or within a routine, but should ideally be done under the supervision of a trainer and in conjunction to the guidelines set by your doctor. The weight loss exercises are most effective when attempted using certain guidelines like:

The whole idea is to pretend you are riding outdoors, dealing with the normal challenges of hill riding without the danger of falling or being hit by a road-raged motorist. Not only does spinning burn lots of calories, it also tones the quadriceps muscles and the muscles of the hips as well. One major drawback of riding a bike outdoors is the tremendous amount of balance and coordination that is required. Not in a spinning class! Since the bike is stationary, all you have to do is concentrate on following the course described to you by your instructor. Increasing the tension knob simulates hills.

Weight loss exercises should be such that they help you to gradually increase your work rate, without a strain on your physical or mental well being. Gear to help you indulge in the routine successfully, like a good pair of jogging shoes or a comfortable tracksuit should be considered. The routine should be fun and the choice between going to a gym or an exercise or aerobics class or completing the routine on your own at home should be a well informed one.

Look for a gym that has physical trainers on staff who are certified by a nationally recognized organization such as the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Council of Exercise. The best way to protect yourself against injury is by ensuring that your center always has a certified physical trainer on hand. A good facility should provide qualified people to advise clients without having to pay an additional fee, and offer new members a free weight-loss analysis, which includes help with exercise and nutrition needs. They should also have a way to measure a person’s body fat by using a device such as a skin caliper or underwater weigh tank

How to get fit for summer

Without layers of clothing to hide excess weight in the summer months, most people head to the nearest gym to get fit for summer.  While following a weight loss diet is essential to having a slimmer shape, you can meet your weight goals much faster if you combine your diet with a regular fitness routine.

Some people are able to exercise regularly at home while others find it more effective to work out in a gym that has a wide range of fitness equipment and good personal trainers. What matters is that you get sufficient exercise and improved fitness in time for summer.

Here are some ideas that you can use to get fit for summer:

Weigh yourself regularly

Your current weight is your starting point and will serve as the basis of your weight loss goal. After you work out the amount of weight you want to shed, be realistic in the time frames you set for losing weight gradually.  Break your weight goal into small and reachable goals to keep you motivated.  Weigh yourself everyday and record your weight in a journal.Keeping an eye on your weight will help you maintain focus and warn you when you stray from a weight loss plan.

Choose the best time to workout

While there is a lot of debate going around about what time of day maximizes an exercise routine, finding the time to workout in your busy schedule should be the best time for you. Working out in the morning is a great way to start your day and is known to boost your metabolism. Some believe that exercising muscles that have been at rest all night long burns more calories than moving muscles that have been working all day long.

However, some experts believe that muscle strength is at its peak late in the afternoon, making it the best time for you work out. Working out at night may not be ideal for those who have sleeping problems.  Bear in mind that running 5 miles on the treadmill at 6 a.m. will burn the same amount of calories if you run the same distance at 4 p.m. or at 8 p.m.

Follow a fitness routine

A combination of resistance training and cardiovascular exercises works best to lose excess weight and shape your body.  Your workout routine may include effective exercises like the squat, bench press, overhead press, deadlift, various abs workouts, and some cardiovascular exercises such as spinning, running and dancing.

If you exercise at a gym or fitness centre, as a personal trainer to help you with an exercise routine to help you get fit for summer.   A personal trainer can also monitor your progress and modify your routine when some sets start to feel too easy.

Include stretching

An important part of exercise is proper stretching.  Ideally, you should stretch before and after each workout.  Stretching increases flexibility, improves the range of motion of your joints, improves your blood circulation and relaxes your body as you cool down from a workout.

Maintaining a healthy body all year-round is easier and healthier than losing excess weight only in the summer time.  By exercising regularly and making healthy food choices, you can get fit for summer and the whole year through.
